Designation for several methods for the systematic recording, detailed and standardized description as well as for the design of manual processes which can be fully influenced by employees and are broken down into process elements. Depending on qualitative and quantitative influencing variables, method-specific standard times are assigned to these, which are regarded as target times. Well-known methods are, for example, MTM - Methods Time Measurement and WF - Work Factor. Condensed solutions extend the field of application beyond mass production. The method-related very attentive observation of manual processes promotes the recognition of existing improvement possibilities. The application requires special training. The use of this method to determine performance targets that affect remuneration requires the consent of the collective bargaining parties.
