Form of process-related work organisation. Its characteristics are
- a strictly object-oriented workflow,
- the use of specialised work systems,
- the arrangement of work systems as close as possible to each other according to the work sequence, sometimes also as a multi-station work organisation,
- short or no transport routes in the work process and short throughput times,
- possibility for workers to change work,
- clear order flow, but
- low flexibility, sensitive to disruptions, use of buffers on a case-by-case basis to balance capacity.
