Definition
According to DIN EN ISO 6385:2004, the term “working means” comprises all installations, machines, tools, organisation means, furniture, and other equipment that are directly or indirectly involved in the execution of a task in the work system. Pallets, component containers, software or footrest are also counted as working means. The terms operating means and working means are often used synonymously, although operating means are more common in production, while working means are mostly used in administrative business units.
