Definition
Refers to work systems with extensive tasks, involving several persons or a great number of people and extensive equipment, e.g. companies or business areas.
Micro-work systems, on the other hand, are comparatively "small" because they comprise one or a few tasks, few employees and less equipment, e.g. a manufacturing island or office work system.
