Definition
Special form of work study for the detailed recording of manual operations (operation elements) and their sequence, e.g. when applying systems of predetermined times. Principles used for improvement are, for example, movement compression (designing work methods by avoiding unnecessary or time-consuming operation elements performed by humans) and movement simplification (avoiding difficult operation elements, e.g. when fitting parts).
